Desktop email application

Doodle

Doodle is a desktop email application that allows users to securely connect their own Google Gmail accounts, synchronize email messages to their own computer, search those messages, read message content, and download email attachments.

Doodle uses the official Gmail API and Google OAuth 2.0 authorization. The application requests read-only Gmail access so users can view and organize their own email data locally.

Purpose of Doodle

The purpose of Doodle is to provide a local desktop tool for users who want to read, search, and organize Gmail messages on their own computer. Doodle is designed to reduce repeated requests to Gmail by synchronizing authorized email data into a local database for faster local searching and viewing.

What Doodle does

What Doodle does not do

How Google user data is handled

Gmail message data is retrieved directly from Google after the user grants permission. Doodle is designed so that synchronized Gmail data remains on the user's own computer. Gmail message content is not intentionally transmitted to the Doodle website.

OAuth credentials are stored locally on the user's device so Doodle can reconnect to Gmail without requiring a complete sign-in on every launch. Users can revoke Doodle's access at any time through their Google Account security settings.
